Backpacking experience: Saturday, June 15 at 2 p.m. through Sunday, June 16 at 11 a.m.

June 7: Learn the basics of backpacking - like what and how to pack, meal planning and safety - in this preparatory class full of checklists.
June 15-16: During this overnight backpacking experience, hike with park interpreter Katie McGlashen as your guide. We will park at the Eddy Discovery Center and hike the Waterloo-Pinckney Trail 4.5 miles to Green Lake Campground. Learn about tent setup, meal preparations and backcountry camp stove basics, to go along with a campfire and a comradery-filled evening. Sunday morning, we will pack, prepare a nice breakfast and break camp for the Discovery Center.
Cost is $40 per family, which includes dinner and breakfast.

A Recreation Passport is required for entry into Waterloo Recreation Area.
