In this class you will learn how to attract bluebirds to your open spaces with carefully maintained nest boxes. We will cover tips and tricks to discourage predators and parasites, the pros and cons of different nesting box designs and how to mount them, where to locate boxes for success and how to monitor your boxes.
Workshop instructor Earl Wolf is a retired DNR employee who has more than 30 years of experience working with bluebirds and maintaining successful nest boxes.
Cost is $40 and includes all materials and lunch. All participants will receive a nest box kit, a copy of “Bluebirds” by Stan Tekiela and other materials.
Participants may arrive at 8:30 to sign in, get packets and enjoy tea, coffee and light breakfast options. Lunch is provided and will be served at noon.
Participants are encouraged to bring notepad and binoculars. Layered clothing is recommended because, if weather and time allows, we will take a short hike.
